World Health Organization says pandemic is ‘no longer a public health emergency of international concern’.
The World Health Organization (WHO) today officially declared an end to the COVID-19 global health emergency, six years after it was first declared in January 2020. The WHO noted that vaccination coverage has reached 85% globally and hospitalization rates have dropped to pre-pandemic levels. However, they cautioned that the virus continues to circulate.
