Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the swearing-in ceremony of West Bengal’s first BJP-led government at Kolkata’s iconic Brigade Parade Ground today. The city has prepared for one of its biggest security and traffic operations in years, with more than 4,000 police personnel and central forces deployed. Authorities have issued a detailed traffic advisory, warning commuters of diversions and movement restrictions across the city throughout the day. Roads including Esplanade Ramp, K.P. Road, Hospital Road, Lovers Lane, Casuarina Avenue, and Queensway will be regulated. Goods vehicles (except those carrying essential items like LPG, medicine, vegetables, and milk) will be restricted from 04:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs. The ceremony also coincides with Rabindra Jayanti celebrations, adding to the public turnout.
