CMIE data reveals significant job creation in manufacturing and service sectors.
The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) today released data showing India’s unemployment rate has dropped to 4.8% – the lowest in six years. Job creation was strongest in the manufacturing sector (adding 2.5 lakh jobs) and the service sector (adding 3.2 lakh jobs). Youth unemployment also saw a decline from 18% to 12.5%
