Facility in Sanand to produce 5 lakh vehicles annually, create 15,000 jobs.
Tesla has received final approval from the Gujarat government to set up its ₹2,000 crore manufacturing plant in Sanand near Ahmedabad. The facility will have an annual capacity of 5 lakh vehicles and will create 15,000 direct jobs. Production of the Model 3 and Model Y is expected to begin by December 2027. Bookings for the made-in-India Tesla will open in 2028.
